INTERPRETATION
VOCAL HEALTH
Rebecca’s teaching method is not only practical and technical but also deeply routed in primal / emotive connection and sound making. She helps clients access all the different parts of their voice, thus giving them further choice and flexibility. With a little help from muscle memory, these simple methods allow the student to access their own broad vocal spectrum during the lesson and beyond.
Rebecca works with a variety of levels / vocal styles and genres everything from musical theatre to pop to soul/gospel to hard rock. Her focus is on providing the vocalist with the best ways to use their voice – efficiently, safely and in the ways that best suit them.
Vocal coaching sessions are catered to suit the individual and their needs, to improve vocal technique without compromising their style. After all, it is not just technique that makes a singer special – it is vocal artisty, performance and personality. She also woks with many artists / songwriters in creative sessions to work on new material and building their projects.
Rebecca is constantly in training. Having already completed many courses with the BVA (British Vocal Association) as well as other vocal institutions, she studies the voice regularly, keeping up to date with all new vocal research, along with conducting her own research into the voice. This ensures that her coaching clients are offered the most up-to-date methods so they can get maximum capability from their voice in a safe and healthy way.
Rebecca is also a songwriter and artist in her own right so has constant first hand experience of singing live, songwriting, working on music projects and building style / sound.
In the client's first lesson, Rebecca will conduct an assessment of the student’s voice to establish problem areas and set targets to work towards giving the student an idea of how long it will take to rectify key technique.
